The Knotty Pines

The Knotty Pine Sunroom is definitely the biggest reason I bought this house. It is a great way to wake up and watch the sun rise (you know the sun doesn't really rise, right!) and drink some French Press!

Shutters Really do finish the room

Just a Random Art Shot!

Just a random art shot!

Is it too much to ask that there be a little bling in the Master Bedroom?

What to do with a vintage school map of the good ole' USA?

Chrome Table Get Polished

Ok, it might still need one more coat of paint but I am too lazy right now to haul that bad boy out the front door...plus it is raining today!

I think I need to find some chrome items to mix with the glass!

I also need to pull out the museum putty and plumb up all the frames!

Because EVERY room needs its own Mirror Ball!

The 'new' dining room table is on its way to becoming a Mirror Ball Table. I've order the mirror ball mirror by the sheet to cover the top! It will be finished off with a sheet of glass so no one will cut themselves with my brilliance! One coat of CHROME done!

Saint Anne Lives!

Well, she lives on the wall in a wall mounted glass saint display case!

Saint Anne came to live in my house because right after submitting the offer on my house I drove right by St. Anne's Church in DC and figured that was a great sign because my house is on Anne St.

Well, because you're here you know how it all played out...but I am also a little obsessed with saints!

Saint Anne is the patron saint of mothers, seamstresses, women in labor and equestrian things...along with a WHOLE list of other things as saints do!

She was the mother of Mary. She was forced to marry her husband Saint Joachim
When widowed, she assumed a male disguise and the name of Euphemianus.
(read: The Virgin Mary's mother was a Drag King!)

Because EVERYONE needs a Dressing Room

It is a four bedroom house so naturally what do it do? Take one of the bedrooms and turn it into a Dressing Room. I cannot stand to have my clothes spread all over the house because houses were not built to store a lot of clothes. (*What the hell did they do back then, eegads!)

Still a work in process but I like the direction it is
going!

PINK - Just because I can!

When I was trying to pick the color for the bathroom I really had no idea what direction to go. Then all of a sudden I decided to paint it PINK...for one simple reason: because I can!

Anyone that knows me well knows that I LOVE Elsa Schiaparelli and her use of Shocking Pink! They've even brought back her collection in recent years. So the bathroom is now an homage to Elsa...right down to the Shocking Pink Perfume and the Shocking Pink Evening Gloves! And no, it isn't wallpaper!

The House that I built

Ok, I didn't build it! The house is a traditional 1940s brick colonial in Takoma Park! BUT I am putting the Jamie Touch to it and having a blast!
